COMMITTED TO WORKING TOGETHER

RENEWAL OF THE SOUTH WALLASEY CHURCHES TOGETHER COVENANT

On Sunday 20th January, four churches from South Wallasey Churches Together, met at St Joseph’s for a service of worship to mark the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity and re-committed themselves to the covenant that encourages them to work together to spread the gospel and share resources for the benefit of the community of South Wallasey.

The four churches were: Our Lady Star of the Sea and St Joseph; St Paul’s, Seacombe; St Mary’s, Liscard; and Seacombe United Reformed Church.

Apart from local church leaders and representatives of the four churches, the service was attended by, and the renewed covenant countersigned by, the Bishop of Chester, the Right Reverend Dr Peter Forster; the Vicar General of the Diocese of Shrewsbury, Canon Philip Moor; and the Moderator of the Mersey Synod of the United Reformed Church, the Reverend Jacky Embrey.

After the service all those attending shared fellowship and refreshments.
